Use case

Live audio roomsfor your app

Hosts, speakers and a listening audience, with people moving on and off stage in real time. Built for social audio, voice chat room and audio party apps.

The anatomy of an audio room

An audio room SDK for apps where people gather to talk and listen.

Every room has a stage and an audience. Your app decides the layout; the SDK carries the audio and tells you who is speaking.

Invite up
A listener joins the stage and can speak.
Move to audience
A speaker goes back to listening.
  • Hosts

    Run the room: open it, decide who speaks and keep the conversation on track.

  • Speakers

    On stage with their microphones live. The SDK reports who is talking, so your app can light up their seat.

  • Audience

    Listens to the stage in real time without publishing audio. Audio rooms are built for large listening audiences.

  • Stage moves

    Hosts invite a listener up to speak and move a speaker back to the audience while the room keeps running.

Running the room

What Gravix Cloud does, and what stays in your app.

  • Moderation

    Hosts can mute a speaker and move them back to the audience. Your server decides who may join a room at all, because every person needs a token from it.

  • An AI room host

    An AI voice agent can join the room like a person: welcome newcomers, explain how the room works and answer questions out loud.

  • Gifts and reactions

    Gravix Cloud carries the live audio. Gifts, coins, reactions and chat run through your own app backend, so payments and moderation stay in your hands.

  • Room size

    Tell us how large your rooms get and we will confirm the right plan for them.

Build it with Flutter

Speakers publish their microphone; listeners join the same room and listen. The token comes from your server.

  1. 01

    Create a project

    Get your App ID and App Certificate from the Gravix Cloud console. The App Certificate stays on your server.

  2. 02

    Issue a token from your server

    Your backend signs a short-lived access token for each user and room, after your own login and checks.

  3. 03

    Join from the app

    Join with the SDK. Publish the microphone only when the person is on stage.

  4. SDKs: Flutter, Web, Android, iOS

    Flutter: flutter pub add gravix_rtc

    Web: npm install gravix-rtc

lib/room.dart
import 'package:gravix_rtc/gravix_rtc.dart';

final room = GravixRoomService();

// Your server signs the token. The App Certificate never ships in the app.
final tokens = GravixTokenProvider.endpoint(
  Uri.parse('https://api.example.com/rtc/token'),
  headers: {'Authorization': 'Bearer $session'},
);

// Speakers publish their mic; listeners join the same room and listen.
final joined = await room.connectWithTokenProvider(
  tokenProvider: tokens,
  request: GravixTokenRequest(room: roomId, identity: userId, name: displayName),
  publishMic: isOnStage,
  enableVideo: false,
);

room.activeSpeakers.addListener(() => glowSeats(room.activeSpeakers.value));

// Leaving the room.
await room.disconnect();
